About Ann Rose

Ann has always loved telling stories. Her first one, spun at the age of four while riding on the back of her father's bicycle, was a fairytale that surely deserved a Pulitzer—if only he had been taking notes.

Since then, Ann has written for movies, TV series, and even ads, but she found her happy place with books. THE LONGING is Ann's debut novel, based on her screenplay of the same name.

Inspired by the seminal paranormal anthology Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio, written by Pu Songling in the 1600s, THE LONGING introduces the fascinating world of beguiling ghost courtesans, seductive fox spirits, and demon shape-shifters to readers through a modern Western protagonist's point of view.

Ann loves taking her readers on mind-bending and intensely emotional journeys of love, sacrifice, and self-discovery, both in this world and the realms beyond.

When Ann is not writing, she can be found baking in the kitchen, attempting to make something not passed as a doorstopper, or taking a sunset walk in the beautiful Arroyo Seco with her family and their frisky Maltese Chihuahua.
